The Suns are no longer in Mike D’Antoni’s “Seven Seconds or Less” offense, but still, they play one of the more up-tempo games in the NBA. With that said, Phoenix was still putrid offensively last year, averaging just over 95 points per game.

First time head coach Jeff Hornacek has reason to be optimistic with the additions of point guard of the future Eric Bledsoe and rookies Alex Len and Archie Goodwin. However, 103 points per game is a lofty goal for the best of the best in the NBA.

"“Over 102.9, we would hope we can get there. If we can get there I think that’s a good start for us in our first year. So, hopefully, I would say yes.”"

That is what Hornacek had to say about the team’s offensive goals when asked about it by Bright Side of the Sun.

Phoenix’s 95.2 points per game average ranked 20th among NBA teams a season ago, and just four teams managed to averaged 103. Those teams were the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Denver Nuggets. Throwing the Suns into the conversation with those four juggernauts may still be a few years away, but Hornacek’s confidence is refreshing.
