There is some good news coming out of Arizona Cardinals training camp today regarding running back Ryan Williams. According to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 AM Phoenix, Williams will practice today along with tight end Jeff King.

This is encouraging news to hear that Williams is practicing because remember last Tuesday he was receiving PRP injections in his knee. It is also encouraging to hear that head coach Bruce Arians says that Williams could play on Saturday night versus the San Diego Chargers. This is important for Williams because this is the third preseason game, which is the dress rehearsal for the regular season.

Williams playing would be a blessing in disguise because he has a lot of competition at the running back position between veteran Rashard Mendenhall and rookie Andre Ellington. Even if he puts some good game film together in this preseason game and the fourth preseason game, it does not mean his roster spot is solidified. But if he somehow does not make the Cardinals roster, I fully expect him to be picked up by another team.

But before we even think that far, it is just great news to hear that Ryan Williams is getting back on the field as he has a lot to prove.
