From General Manager Don Maloney, the Phoenix Coyotes have recalled forward Gilbert Brule from the AHL. If you remember, late last month, nobody knew if Brule would be playing with the Coyotes or in the KHL due to contractual technicalities.

But Brule has got past that and will be up with the big league club. This season with the Portland Pirates, the Phoenix Coyotes’ AHL affiliate, he has played well.

Gilbert Brule has seven goals and five assists for 12 points on the season. He is second on the team in goals scored and has a plus three rating.

The Coyotes are currently on a two game losing streak and in those two games have scored a total of three goals while giving up seven.

With the Coyotes getting Brule it will be a huge help as they take on the Colorado Avalanche tonight in the last of a three game road trip.
