Arizona State head coach Todd Graham said on Friday that backup quarterback Michael Eubank will transfer from the school and was granted release from his scholarship.

The reason for Eubank’s transfer might be because of the play of Taylor Kelly and the Arizona State offense. In the 2012 season, Eubank was a part of the offense in special packages that allowed him to show off his athleticism. He had four rushing and four passing touchdowns last season.

In terms of this season, he only had three rushing touchdowns and only played in six games this season. The most substantial playing time he got this season was the Week 1 matchup against Sacramento State and Arizona State was winning the game 55-0.

Graham said about Eubank leaving the program, “Great young man, and we’re going to try to help find him a home.” It seems as if Eubank will be looking at FCS schools as he would be able to play right away instead of a FBS school where he would have to sit out a year.
