Welcome to Heat Waved’s Arizona Diamondbacks Spring Training roster reports. This is the first in a series in which we’ll move around the diamond to give you a glimpse of each position and what to expect. We’ll go through the depth chart to look at the starter, backup and non-roster invitees to drop some extra knowledge on all of you before the season begins.

Today, we’ll be covering catchers. There isn’t any controversy as it relates to the starter, as Miguel Montero is far and away the best catcher in the organization. However, the backup catcher spot is extremely interesting, as the Diamondbacks don’t have a solid majors-ready backup.
