Starter – Mark Trumbo
Backup – Gerardo Parra

The Arizona Diamondback’s big acquisition this offseason, at least offensively, was Trumbo. He’s got a ton of power, hitting 95 home runs over his last three seasons. He’s a bit of a throwback to the days of Mark Reynolds and Chris Young, in that he’ll crush the ball…when he makes good contact. He struck out 184 times last year, hitting .234 with a measly .294 on-base percentage.

Defensively, Trumbo is better suited to play first base, but Paul Goldschmidt will be there for the next decade. He’s 6’4″ and 235 pounds, but the Diamondbacks don’t care and are going to start him in left field. In his career, he’s posted a .976 fielding percentage in the outfield, which is below the league average of .986. He won’t be the worst defensive outfielder in baseball, but he’ll be the worst on the Diamondbacks.
