The league has fined P.J. Tucker $5,000 for his second violation of the anti-flopping rules. This incident happened during the February 18th game against the Denver Nuggets with 1:38 left in the fourth quarter.
The Suns would go on to win the game 112-107 and $5,000 is just a drop in a bucket for Tucker, but you’ve got to take a look at the video. I’m thinking Tucker would have gotten less velocity if he were shot out of a cannon.
You can see as Tucker positions himself to rebound, his back is touched (not pushed, not punched, not run into). By a miracle of physics (or by a pretty bad job of flopping), Tucker goes flying into the pads protecting the basket.
