Collmenter had his best year as a professional in 2013, posting a 5-5 record with a 3.13 ERA. He came into the league as a starter, but he’s found his role on this team as a long relief/mop-up guy and has embraced that role. He was instrumental last season in taking pressure off of the other relievers when the starters couldn’t put together a quality start.

Josh allowed just 79 hits in his 92 innings pitched and put together a career-best 8.3 strikeouts per-nine innings in 2013. Will he ever be a star? Probably not, but he’s in a perfect role to succeed and he’s got a great attitude towards a job that many would want to shy away from.
