The Arizona Diamondbacks announced their lineup for tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals and it was good news for third baseman, Jake Lamb.

The twenty-three year old Lamb, is thought to be the Diamondbacks top hitting prospect. He has posted impressive numbers throughout his minor league career, he owns a combined .327 average, .407 on-base and .566 slugging between Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno, where he was promoted last week.

As a sixth round pick, Jake Lamb was rated the club’s No. 13 prospect, by Baseball America, before the season but now would probably rate higher, arguably being considered the organization’s top position player prospect.

Baseball America wrote, “Lamb’s raw power began to emerge in 2013, and he offers a patient approach from the left side with the ability to go deep into counts, meaning he could hit for both solid average and power. He’s ready for a shot at major league pitching,” said a scout with an American League team. “It’s a game of adjustments, and only time will tell, but if all goes right, he should be a .275 hitter with 15 to 20 homers who can play solid third base.”

In a survey last week, Lamb was rated the league’s best defensive third baseman.

The rest of the Diamondbacks lineup is as follows:

Ender Inciarte CF, Hill 2B, Peralta RF, Mtrumbo44 1B, @miggymont26 C, @JakeLamb18 3B, @DidiG18 SS, Kieschnick LF, and Nuño P
