The Arizona Cardinals were dominant last week in their victory against the Houston Texans and, while they were not at the same level against the Minnesota Vikings, they still played a very solid game. The Cards would end up losing 30-28 but would still have some very nice performances by a variety of players.

Quarterback, Carson Palmer, lead a very nice opening drive for a touchdown going 4-8 and 91 yards which was followed up by a 1-yard rush for a touchdown by Jonathan Dwyer.

The 2nd quarterback in the game, Drew Stanton, also had a very solid performance going 6-8 , 81 yards, and a touchdown. Stanton would finish with an almost perfect quarterback rating of 146.4.

Palmer and Stanton both had great games for the Cards but there was one player, in particular, who helped make the quarterbacks look good and that was wide receiver Jaron Brown.

Last week, our birdgang MVP was wide receiver John Brown and, this week, our MVP has to go to another Brown in Jaron Brown.

Jaron Brown was an undrafted rookie in 2013 who never saw the field too much during the season. 2014 looks to be a different story.

Brown only had 2 receptions in this game but he would definently have to work for these 2 catches which would go for 86 yards. Brown’s first reception was more like a screen play where the quarterback would throw Brown the ball around the line of scrimmage and Brown would have to power his way pass 3 Viking defenders as would not be denied until he be brought down after a 51-yard gain.

On Brown’s second reception, Brown would use his speed to get 30 yards down field where he would have to get huge elevation and stretch his arms out to make the catch over a Vikings’ defender. Brown would be just a few yards short of getting a touchdown.

It was only two plays that made Jaron Brown this weeks birdgang MVP but they were spectacular plays. From just these two plays, you could see the tremendous athleticism and strength that Brown is capable of having.

Week one was John Brown, week two was Jaron Brown, and who will it be week 3? Will it be one of the Browns or someone new? We shall find out next week after the Cards take on the Cincinatti Bengals Sunday night.
