Morning Meltdown – Arizona Cardinals Edition

For this Morning Meltdown let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Cardinals following yesterday’s preseason loss.

The Arizona Cardinals dominated the game in last weeks preseason matchup against the Houston Texans. This week they weren’t so fortunate. Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com, broke down last nights events.

"“In the grand scheme of things, Zach Bauman’s six-yard lateral run (?) of the loose ball batted backward by center John Estes was the play of Saturday night, right? It’s the kind of play that might’ve lived forever had it happened in a regular season game. It was fourth down, the Cardinals were going for it down three on the Minnesota 6-yard line because there is no way Bruce Arians was going to go to overtime in the preseason, and then Estes’ snap didn’t connect with quarterback Ryan Lindley. The ball rolled around. Estes, in the officials’ eyes, batted it backward, although oblong as it is, the ball took a turn toward the Vikings’ goal line, and Bauman scooped it up and improbably scored.“"

In regards to the best player of the #BirdGang, Arizona Cardinals, Tony Burgess analyzed the MVP of preseason Week 2.

"“Quarterback, Carson Palmer, lead a very nice opening drive for a touchdown going 4-8 and 91 yards which was followed up by a 1-yard rush for a touchdown by Jonathan Dwyer. The 2nd quarterback in the game, Drew Stanton, also had a very solid performance going 6-8 , 81 yards, and a touchdown. Stanton would finish with an almost perfect quarterback rating of 146.4.Palmer and Stanton both had great games for the Cards but there was one player, in particular, who helped make the quarterbacks look good and that was wide receiver Jaron Brown.”"
