Tyrann Mathieu was activated from the PUP list on Tuesday and will rejoin the Arizona Cardinals during Wednesday’s practice.  Although Mathieu can participate in practice don’t expect him to be going full speed any time soon.

Mathieu told arizonasports.com that his physical condition isn’t an issue but rather his confidence in facing elite receivers.

"“I am already in shape,” Mathieu said. “I don’t ever get out of shape. I’m not worried about that part of it. I am more worried about my confidence going against Larry (Fitzgerald), going against elite receivers.”"

That said Mathieu doesn’t seem to lack much confidence with this tweet be posted about his return.

The Cardinals are hoping they will have Tyrann Mathieu back on the field when they open the season on September 8th.  That said they will take it slow with their star defensive back, something Mathieu admits will be a challenge.

"“That’s my competitive drive,” he said. “With our secondary this year, we are very talented. So for me to go out there and not go as hard, that’d disrespect those guys. I want to be 100 percent.”"

Getting Mathieu back at practice will be a boast for the Cardinals after losing DT Darnell Dockett to an ACL injury over the weekend.  Linebackers John Abraham and Kevin Minter are also expected to be ready for the season opener.
