Another preseason game is in the books and the Cincinnati Bengals would beat the Arizona Cardinals 19-13. The 3rd preseason game, for most teams, consist of the majority of 1st string players getting a descent amount of reps to prepare for the regular season. This was the case for both teams in this one.

Carson Palmer would not play up to his normal level as he would struggle going against a tough Bengal defense. Palmer would complete under 50% of his passes and also throw an interception which would go for a touchdown for the Bengals. There would be two instances, as well, where Palmer would have a receiver open for a touchdown and Palmer would miss-fire both times.

While the Cardinals rarely run the ball on a consistent basis, Andre Ellington had a solid game for the little time he had his hands on the ball. Ellington would have only 9 carries but he would go for 46 yards which is a solid 5.1 yards per gain average.

The Bengals would like the usual Bengals by having a suffocating defense and watching Andy Dalton throw balls out for AJ Green to make plays with. Although, in this game, Dalton would have 2 favorite receivers in AJ Green and Mohamed Sanu as they would combine for 10 receptions and 123 receiving yards. They would be targeted, a combined, 15 times in the game.

Good news for the Cardinals was Larry Fitzgerald and his play-making abilities being showcased like his usual self. Fitzgerald would have 3 receptions for 71 receiving yards but Fitzgerald would be most known for, in this one, for his great 43-yard reception where he would have to turn on the jets to every one of those 43 yards. Fitzgerald would also be recognized for a different reception where he had to lay his whole body out to make the play and he would do so with ease.
