Morning Meltdown – Arizona Cardinals Edition

For this Morning Meltdown, let’s take a look at some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Cardinals following their roster cuts and their claim of linebacker Thomas Keiser.

Yesterday, the Arizona Cardinals released their 53 player roster and although they cut a lot of “fat” from the meat, some don’t believe that Coach Bruce Arians and Steve Keim are done.

"“There are eight players who make up the offensive line, two whom occupy two different positions. Starting left guard and back up center Ted Larsen.  Back up left and right tackle Bradley Sowell.  The Cardinals could stay with eight players, but get rid of Sowell all together. I can also see them going out and getting a left tackle and keeping Sowell on the right side.Another unbalanced unit is the defensive line. I believe this group stays the same, no changes.  The mix they have of young and veteran players is perfect. They`ll have a good rotation to keep everyone fresh for the fourth quarter.”"

Following the cuts from the Cardinals yesterday, it is being reported that they have acquired Thomas Keiser off of waivers.

"“In their continuing pursuit of pass rushers, the Cardinals on Sunday added outside linebacker Thomas Keiser via a waiver claim and released receiver Walt Powell, a sixth-round pick.Keiser, waived by the Chargers this week, played in 12 games for San Diego last year, finishing with 4 ½ sacks and 20 tackles. He spent the first month of last season on the Chargers practice squad.Keiser could play against his former team on Sept. 8 when the Cardinals meet the Chargers.”"
