It is finally time to start the regular season and the Arizona Cardinals will do so in style.  They will kick-off against the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football from University of Phoenix Stadium.

More from Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals came out of the preseason a little beat up with a key injury developing to starting running back Andre Ellington who is questionable to play against the Chargers.

Safety Tyrann Mattieu made a return from the PUP list two weeks ago and has practiced all week with the team. If he can play it would be a big boost to a Arizona Cardinal defense that is planning a return to dominance after losing key players to free agency last season.

Despite free agency loses and injury concerns the Cardinals are still considered by most to be a play-off caliber team. That said head coach Bruce Arians understands that rankings and good feelings quickly disappear if the team doesn’t win.

"…the same people who are cheering you now will be the ones booing you out of the stadium. You just have to win.”"

Now the time for talk is over and the only thing that matters is win.  The Cardinals have a great chance to get one of those tonight against a Chargers team that didn’t do much to improve from last season.
