Kirk often mentioned that the local push to choose Arizona State being heavily prevalent. He said, “I’m a real independent guy and I wanted to start something on my own and create my own journey.”

The 5-10, 191-pound wideout played some truly tremendous football his senior year at Saguaro High School. He caught 61 passes for 1,187 yards and 17 touchdowns, while running the ball 159 times for 1,692 yards and 25 touchdowns.

He racked up 49 tackles, four interceptions (two of which he brought back for a touchdown, and two blocked kicks. He added a kickoff return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown for the cherry on top.

Kirk was out of this world on the high school level setting record after record for both his high school and the state of Arizona. He also was named Arizona’s Gatorade Player of the Year for the 2014 season.

The Arizona State Sun Devils were looking to add him to a solid offensive arsenal and also to replace Jaelen Strong if Strong is to declare for the NFL draft.

The Sun Devils will have to remain focused on key wide receiver recruits like DaMarkus Lodge and Trent Irwin to add to the offensive side of the ball. Some other top recruits that have expressed interest in the Arizona State program include Sotonye Jamabo (RB), Jarrett Stidham (QB), Osa Masina (OLB), Rasheem Green (DE) and John Houston (OLB).
