Phoenix Suns: Early-August Roster Update

The Phoenix Suns made a brilliant push in the 2015 Summer League Playoffs as the team advanced all the way to the Summer League Championship Game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Suns lost the championship game 93-90, but the young guns on the team made big strides toward improving for the future.

Additionally, the Phoenix Suns were able to settle on a five-year, $70 million deal with Brandon Knight to keep him with the Suns.

Marcus Morris, Danny Granger, and Reggie Bullock were traded to the Detroit Pistons to clear cap space to attempt a run at LaMarcus Aldridge. That run came up short unfortunately as Aldridge eventually signed with the Spurs.

The Suns did however land Tyson Chandler in free agency with a four-year, $52 million deal early in the free agency period. Mirza Teletović also reached a deal with Phoenix.

Finally, the Suns added Kentucky Wildcat sharpshooter Devin Booker with the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Booker put on a dazzling display of shooting in Summer League and should definitely be a force to be reckoned with when the regular season rolls around.
