Yesterday, we broke down the Phoenix Suns all-time roster and today we will continue our blast to the past (and partially the current) and talk about the best players at each position in Arizona Diamondbacks history.

The Arizona Diamondbacks began as an expansion team in the 1997 season. Four years later the Diamondbacks were celebrating a World Series championship against the New York Yankees. 14 years later that is still their lone World Series championship however.

The Diamondbacks were written off by multiple “experts” at the beginning of the 2015 season, but so far the team is sticking it to them. Arizona sits at 53-55 entering Saturday’s contests, good enough for third place in the National League West behind the Dodgers and Giants.

It will take a big-time run down the stretch to make up the seven game difference between the Diamondbacks and the second National League Wild Card team or the eight game gap between the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers.

Although this year may not be the time for the Diamondbacks to double their World Series championship total, they’re still plenty of past players to celebrate as well as some studs on the current roster.

This would be the best possible lineup in the 18-year history of the Arizona Diamondbacks (with number of games played and accolades earned while in a Diamondbacks uniform)…
