Phoenix Coyotes Assign Chad Johnson To AHL

The Phoenix Coyotes have announced that they have assigned goalie Chad Johnson, not to get confused with former NFL wide-out Chad Ochocinco Johnson.

Johnson will be demoted down to the Coyotes AHL team the Portland Pirates. Johnson played 3 games for the Phoenix Coyotes this season and in the 3 games Johnson has a record of 2-0-1. Before being called up to the NHL Johnson was apart of the Portland Pirates and before being called up he posted a 16-13-1 record.

Johnson’s role down at the AHL level is to advance on his playing abilities as it will be just a matter of time till he is primary backup to goalie Mike Smith.
