Today, the Phoenix Coyotes announced that they have re-signed assistant GM Brad Treliving to a multi-year contract extension. This is a great move for the Coyotes as they are keeping the front office together with GM Don Maloney who is also coming back as well. If you didn’t know Treliving is also the Vice President of Hockey Operations.

In a statement released by GM Don Maloney he said, “We are very pleased to re-sign Brad to a multi-year contract extension.” He added, “Brad is a valuable member of our hockey operations department and has done a great job managing our AHL affiliate in Portland.” Treliving is getting high praise from Maloney as he deserves because he is the General Manager of the Portland Pirates and this past season with 87 points they earned a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

This shows that Treliving is developing talent not only in Portland but throughout the Coyotes’ system which only means good things for the future. In a statement from Treliving he said, “I’m thrilled to re-sign with the Coyotes. I have very much enjoyed working with Don and our entire staff the past six seasons and look forward to building a winner here in the Valley.”

From this statement alone, Treliving has a great mindset heading forward and so does the entire organization. All the front office has to do now is re-sign head coach Dave Tippett and the Coyotes could become a powerhouse in the western conference in the near future.
