Even though, the NHL season has not started yet there is still news to report. The Phoenix Coyotes who have been apart of the news a lot this summer are trying to add a player to their team. That player is Mikkel Boedker. Boedker, who is a restricted free agent is trying to get a contract done before training camp starts so he can start developing some chemistry with newly acquired center Mike Ribeiro.

Coyotes assistant GM Brad Treliving said about the contract negotiations, “There’s still time before we play games that count for points. We’d like to get it done. It’s not done, but we’ll continue to sort of grind away at it here.” Last season, Boedker played in 48 games and score seven goals and 26 points.

For the Coyotes, training camp begins on September 11th, so that is only a couple weeks away. Treliving also said

"We want Mikkel here, and Mikkel wants to be here. There’s always urgency on both sides. On the same token, you have to do something that makes sense. We’ll continue to work at it.”"

If Boedker cannot get a deal figured out, he will not be able to participate in training camp, which could eventually end up hurting him.
