The Arizona Diamondbacks are looking for a new pitching coach as many other teams around the MLB have already filled that position. A few weeks ago, if you remembered the Diamondbacks hired Dave Duncan as a special adviser to the general manager/pitching consultant.

Now according to a source, the Diamondbacks have interviewed Brad Arnsberg for their pitching coach position. If you don’t know who Arnsberg is, he spent last season as Arizona’s major and minor league rehab coordinator.

Arnsberg, who is 50 years old, has a lot of pitching experience beginning in the 2000-01 season with the Montreal Expos and ending with the Houston Astros in the 2010-11 season.

I think if the Diamondbacks can hire Arnsberg then their pitching should be in great shape. Arnsberg is an in-house candidate that will not make the pitchers change their style.

Arnsberg can help Arizona’s pitchers grow and mature to become better. They already have an ace in Patrick Corbin and a great staff behind him in Wade Miley, Brandon McCarthy, Trevor Cahill, and Randall Delgado.

If Corbin, Miley, and McCarthy can lead the way for Arizona then they should be in the playoffs and win the NL West crown.
