The MLB Winter Meetings have been pretty eventful for the Arizona Diamondbacks as they acquired Mark Trumbo on Tuesday and now they are looking for a starting pitcher.

According to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ top pitching priority on their list is Masahiro Tanaka.

All Diamondback fans don’t scream at once! This is pretty exciting that Arizona is throwing their name into the hat. Imagine the starting rotation of Patrick Corbin, Masahiro Tanaka, Wade Miley, Brandon McCarthy, and Randall Delgado. That is a formidable starting rotation that could help you win the NL West.

Before we can dream of that possible scenario happening. The Arizona Diamondbacks will have to make the max bid of $20 million and then have to deal with the other teams in the MLB trying to bid for Tanaka’s services. I still think this is pretty exciting for the Arizona Diamondbacks to be involved with this caliber of a pitcher.

If Tanaka is a number one pitcher like analysts are saying then if Arizona gets him, you have to put the Diamondbacks as contenders in the NL West.
