Blanco’s been brought into camp but it’s been discussed that he’s being groomed for a coaching position. Certainly, he has the knowledge to help the younger guys out. Blanco led the league in caught stealing percentage back in 2000 (58 percent) and 2004 (49). Lalli is in a very similar boat to Gosewisch, as he’s been a career minor leaguer that hasn’t shown the ability to hit at the major league level. He was a career .294 hitter in the minors, though.
Rodriguez is a young catcher out of UCLA who hasn’t played above the A level. He doesn’t have a shot to make the big league roster, but the Diamondbacks also have needs near the bottom of the organizational depth chart. Lastly, Wilson has seen some extended time in the majors with the Los Angeles Angels back in 2008-12. In his 447 career plate appearances, he’s a .208 hitter. Defensively, he’s mediocre.
