Would it surprise you to know the 2013 Cardinals posted the best point differential (plus-55) of any Cardinal team since the 1993 team outscored their opponents by 57? That team still went 7-9, but that’s another story. That point differential is impressive until you realize the Denver Broncos outscored their opponents by 207 and the Seattle Seahawks beat their opponents by 186.

Eight different teams had a plus-100 point differential this year, so it’s not exactly rare. With that said, the last Cardinal team to do it…was in 1948! That Chicago Cardinals team went 11-1 and lost in the Championship. They were No. 1 in points and yards, behind Ray Mallouf and Charlie Trippi. By contrast, the Cardinals have been outscored by 100 points 12 out of the last 28 seasons.
