TOP MINOR LEAGUER

Brandon Jacobs

Jacobs is also very young, at just 22 years old. Still, he’s shown the ability to hit for power, average and he’s got some speed. In 2011, he hit .303 with 17 home runs, 80 runs batted in and 30 steals for Greenville, in the Boston Red Sox organization.

As he’s moved up in level, his numbers haven’t held, but that’s to be expected. His last stop was AA Birmingham for the Chicago White Sox organization, where he hit .237 with two home runs and two steals in 156 at-bats. The Diamondbacks took a chance on him and believe that his 2011 season wasn’t a fluke. He’s currently rated the No. 17 prospect in the Diamondbacks system and is rated 4/4 for his arm and 5/5 for his fielding.
