Let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Phoenix Mercury, as they are still beaming off of their 19th win in 20 games.
As a result of this win, ESPN wrote a recap of their overtime game. Here are some of the quotes from the post game interviews.
"“It was just the kind of game the WNBA leaders needed.Candice Dupree had 20 points and 18 rebounds and Phoenix beat the San Antonio Stars 78-73 in overtime Thursday night.“That’s what I said to my coaching staff, `This is not a bad game for us,” Mercury coach Sandy Brondello said. “Because, really, we haven’t had a lot of close games and it’s actually good preparation leading to the playoffs. Because that’s what playoff basketball is like — it’s a grind, it’s really physical. It was good preparation for us.”"

Although the next article wasn’t written tonight, the analysis and information is too good not to share. Kris Habbas of the SB Nation site, Bright Side Of The Sun, discusses the flaws and areas of improvements needed to make the Mercury the best team possible. See below for a snippet of his thoughts:
"“One of the trademarks of the Mercury’s winning streak was coming out of the gates strong, pushing their opponents into a hole, and then imposing their will on teams throughout the rest of the game. They did that to perfection in the first 15-games of the winning streak. Then fatigue, confidence, or whatever you want to call it set in for the team as they lost the first quarter of the last win in the streak and the streak ender.”"
