2. What will the order of the Tight Ends become on the depth chart?
With the sudden retirement of of Jake Ballard, another job opened up in the tight end department. Even with the loss of Ballard, the tight end group appears to be a very deep group on paper.
John Carlson was a very productive player in his early years but, since 2010, the most Carlson has gone for has been 300 receiving yards in a season. Carlson has the talent but injury problems have held him back.
We also have 2nd round rookie, Troy Niklas, who looks like a man on a mission. Niklas had great success at Notre Dame posting 500 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in 2013. Only thing about Niklas is can he continue to post good numbers at the pro level? Also, that was the only year Niklas started at Notre Dame.
Then we have Rob Housler who has been a very productive tight end for the Cardinals in the past few seasons. Housler has gone over 400 yards receiving the past two seasons and he has also been a very durable player rarely getting injured. We also have lesser named players in Darren Fells and Andre Hardy who will try to earn a roster spot.
