1. Who will backup Carson Palmer at QB?
According to the Cardinals’ current depth chart, it looks as though we have Drew Stanton behind Palmer followed by Ryan Lindley and rookie Logan Thomas. It is very likely that we will see all of these QBs playing tonight so it will be intriguing to see who will perform the best.
Drew Stanton has been around the block and could very easily be locked into the spot behind Palmer simply due to his veteran experience. Ryan Lindley has not had too much luck with the Cardinals yet, coming to the team in the 6th round in 2012, but he still has potential to develop into a descent quarterback.
Lindley has great arm strength which is a key attribute to the Cardinals’ passing game but his accuracy has been a major concern. He threw 7 interceptions in 2012 with 0 touchdown passes. That kind of ratio will only lead someone farther down the bench.
Then there is the 4th round rookie from this past draft, Logan Thomas. He had his ups and his downs at Virginia Tech. He threw for an average of 3000 yards in his past 3 seasons at Virginia Tech but his TD to INT ratio has been nothing to write home about. A major focal point in his game is running when he needs to. He is extremely fast and ran for around 400 yards in each of the past 3 seasons at VTech. All of the other QBs on the roster really do not significant running ability so it is possible Thomas can come in on situations during a game and be a change of pace QB for the Arizona Cardinals.
