Morning Meltdown – Arizona Coyotes Edition

For this Morning Meltdown let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Coyotes, specifically the renaming of the Coyotes arena and their rebranding efforts.
The Arizona Coyotes, formerly the Phoenix Coyotes, have gone through a few changes recently, but they aren’t done yet. Today it was announced the Coyotes will be changing the name of their arena from “Jobing.com” to “Gila River Arena.”
"“The deal is for nine years and was announced this morning. Financial terms were not disclosed.Gila River Casinos operate three casinos in the Phoenix area. They are a gaming arm of the Gila River Indian Community. The deal still has to be approved by the city of Glendale, which owns the arena.“On behalf of the entire Arizona Coyotes organization and IceArizona, we are thrilled to partner with Gila River Casinos and the Gila River Indian Community,” said Coyotes President and CEO Anthony LeBlanc. “"

In regards to the Arizona Coyotes rebranding, they have fired their advertising agency and are currently looking for a new one, as reported by Phoenix Business Journal.
"“The Coyotes’ new owners hired Chicago-based Cramer-Krasselt — which has a Phoenix office — to handle its advertising last August. The year before the Coyotes hired Scottsdale-based Anderson Advertising & Public Relations. Before that, Minneapolis-based Fallon had the hockey team’s ad account.Now the hockey team is in the market for a new ad firm — again.“We are looking for a new agency,” said Coyotes spokesman Rich Nairn.”"
