Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner Is Engaged

The Phoenix Mercury have been using the slogan “Chasing Glory” all season. Apparently Brittney Griner took it rather literally. Griner proposed to girlfriend (now fiancée) and fellow WNBA star, Glory Johnson, yesterday.
The two-time WNBA All-Star for the Phoenix Mercury, former NCAA champion and the 2012 AP Division I Player of the Year (among countless other accolades) took a big step in her personal life on Thursday.
Brittney Griner announced her engagement to the world of Instagram by posting a picture of her proposing to a shocked Glory Johnson.
She said,
"“Last Night was a Night to Remember[,] I became the happiest person on this earth! (almost pass out but when that one word came out I came back to life) Me and my baby @missvol25 are in it for Life!”"
Griner‘s fiancée, Glory Johnson, was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 at Tennessee before being picked No. 4 overall in the 2012WNBA draft by the Tulsa Shock.
