10. Utah Utes

The Utes are returning most of their starting offense and plan to run the spread again in 2014.  A wide open offense and aggressive defense is a high risk high reward proposition.  If they can make it work they could move up the rankings quickly.

9. Washington State Cougars

WSU also has a favorable non-conference schedule.  They start the season with a neutral site game in Seattle against on of the Big Ten’s newest additions, the Rutgers Scarlet Nights. The Cougars will be should be tough against the run as they return all of their starting front seven.

8. Oregon State Beavers

The Beavers new offensive coordinator, John Garrett is looking to bring balance to the streaky Beaver offense and disappeared during the stretch run.  The change in philosophy could push them back into the upper half of the PAC 12.
