Report: James Harrison to Visit With the Arizona Cardinals
By Tony Burgess
For the past few weeks, the Arizona Cardinals have been trudging through the free agency waters in need of more defensive help. The Cards have lost some big pieces on defense and they have been searching for replacements throughout the entire offseason.
The Cards would bring in Brett Keisel for a visit but Keisel would, ultimately, sign back with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After Keisel, the Cards went out and signed Isaac Sopoaga and Ryan McBean who were, both, defensive linemen.
Then, just the other day, the Cardinals brought in, yet, another defensive linemen for a visit in Tommy Kelly. As of now, no official signing has occurred between the two groups.
Now, the Cardinals have moved their attention to the linebacker position. According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, The Arizona Cardinals are bringing in former Pittsburgh Steeler and Cincinnati Bengal, James Harrison, for a visit today.
Here is Aaron Wilson’s official tweet:
Harrison was once thought of as an intimidating beast for a linebacker back when he was in Pittsburgh. He has been around the NFL for a while, though, and his play has begun to decline.
At age 36, it is hard to say how much Harrison could bring to the Cardinals’ linebacker group but, like what Brett Keisel could have been, Harrison could bring in needed veteran presence and bring a spark to a Cardinal defense that has suffered a lot throughout this offseason.
