Here at Heat Waved we like to put the spotlight on the “Red Hot Sun Devil of the Game” from each week. In our inaugural spotlight D.J. Foster takes home the award.
We previously predicted that Foster would play a big role this year earlier in the month here. But we didn’t know that D.J. Foster would pick up where he left off last season in last night’s performance.
Foster capped off a 6 play, 55 yard drive with a one yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He then punched in a three yard touchdown in the second quarter to add to his resume for the game.
The real excitement happened in the third quarter however. D.J. Foster broke a few tackles, spun to the outside and raced to the end-zone for a 57 yard touchdown run. The long run was his third touchdown of the game, but also pushed his rushing yards over the century mark for the game.
Foster ended the game with 15 carries for 147 yards and three touchdowns. He also had four receptions out of the backfield that totaled 26 yards.
ESPN’s College Football enjoyed the show that D.J. Foster put on.
The Sun Devils went on to beat the Weber State Wildcats 45-14 behind D.J. Foster’s monster game.
The Sun Devils will travel to New Mexico for their next game. They will take on the New Mexico Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network.
