Morning Meltdown – Arizona Diamondbacks Edition
By Mario Hicks
For this Morning Meltdown, let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Diamondbacks including a recap of their game and the reinstatement of one of their players.
Fox Sports is reporting that the Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated Daniel Hudson and Cody Ross.
"“The Arizona Diamondbacks have reinstated Daniel Hudson from the disabled list, and the right-hander will likely work in relief in his return from two Tommy John operations.Arizona also reinstated outfielder Cody Ross from the 15-day disabled list with a strained left calf.Hudson has not pitched for Arizona since June 26, 2012, when he tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow against the Braves.”"

Jules Tompkins of Arizona Sports discusses the impact Trevor Cahill has on the game when Tuffy Gosewich is catchin,
"“When the Arizona Diamondbacks designated Trevor Cahill for a minor league assignment in June, he left with a 5.66 earned run average and a 1-6 record. Since his return to the rotation in mid-July, Cahill has looked slightly improved, overall — pitching to a 2-4 record while compiling a 4.56 ERA.There have been times over the last two months in which the right-hander has looked much improved, however.Perhaps coincidentally, much of his improved stretch came with D-backs backup catcher Tuffy Gosewich behind the plate.”"
