The Arizona Wildcats had questions at quarterback last week those questions were answered when Anu Solomon passed for 425 yards and 4 touchdowns. The performance led to a ton of awards and accolades including being named Athlon Sports National Freshman of the Week.
But can the redshift freshman quarterback duplicate that performance against the UTSA Roadrunners on Thursday night?
Solomon’s 425 yards in week 1 was part of a 787 yard explosion that led the nations offenses last week. Although that seems like a tall order repeat, the Wildcat players think it is possible.
"“Obviously, a game like that is a pretty special week,” UA offensive lineman Mickey Baucus said. “If we go in there this week and execute and do what we are capable of doing, we should be able to get big numbers and yards all season long. If we go out there and try to play the perfect game, then big games like that should be more to come.”"
Of course a quarterback is nothing without good receivers and Anu Solomon certainly had help during last weeks drubbing of UNLV. Ausitn Hill and Samajie Grant both went over 100 yards receiving while demonstrating Arizona’s big play ability.
"“Anu did a great job moving the ball around this last week, and having all of these options for him will make it a lot easier for him being a first-time starter,” wide receiver Nate Phillips said."
The Arizona Wildcats will look to duplicate their offensive dominance on Thursday night.
