By Mario Hicks
For this Morning Meltdown let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Cardinals, from Jonathan Cooper to roster options.
Arizona Cardinals punter Dave Zastudil appeared on the report for the first time this week and was listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
"“Without another punter on the roster, Arizona would be left with a few options. The Cardinals could either sign a free-agent or give the duties to kicker Chandler Catanzaro. There are two punters on the market as of Sunday afternoon, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Zoltan Mesko spent his first three seasons with theNew England Patriots and 2013 with both thePittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. In 34 punts with the Steelers, he averaged 42.5 yards per punt. After he was released by the Steelers last October, Mesko was signed by the Bengals but wasn’t re-signed after becoming a free agent in March.Sav Rocca, 40, is an Australian who caught on with Philadelphia in 2007 and spent four seasons with the Eagles before the past three with Washington. Last year he averaged 42 yards per punt and had just one blocked. He was released in March. “"

As the Arizona Cardinals continue their preparation for their week one match-up against the San Diego Chargers on Monday night, the Cardinals depth chart has begun to look more clear.
"“Now, Cooper is, supposedly, good to go so it would be expected to see him starting in week one, right?According to Cardinals’ head coach, Bruce Arians, this is not the case.Arians told azcentral.com, in regards to Cooper not starting, “I don’t care about draft status.” Arians would go on to say, “I want to see the results on the field, and Ted Larsen way outplayed (Cooper).”This is how every NFL coach should evaluate their players when deciding starters and backups. Whether if a player was picked in the 1st round or went undrafted, their performance on the field should be the only indicator as to who should be playing on game day.Since returning from his broken leg, Cooper has been struggling with a turf toe injury which tends to be a very slow recovery for most athletes.”"
