The Arizona Cardinals (1-0) travel to the big apple to take on the New York Giants (0-1) for a week 2 clash. Both teams played on Monday night Football the last week albeit with different results. The Arizona Cardinals defended their home turf with a one point win over the San Diego Chargers.  The Giants traveled to Detroit and got mauled by the Lions.

For the Cardinals the shortened recovery time after playing on Monday night is complicated by a trip to the East coast….and a three-hour time difference.

"“You don’t quite have the recovery,” Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer said. “We’re full pads two days after a game, which slows down that recovery time, and then you leave Friday and you have all those thing, but it is what it is."

But Palmer also knows that quick turnarounds and travel schedules are part of the game and won’t serve as an excuse if the Cardinals lose to the Giants.

"That’s this game and that’s this league, and the teams that don’t use those things as excuses, those kinds of things don’t come up and affect them. As the season goes on, you have to travel back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and that’s just what is. That’s the game and you have to be ready.”"

For the Cardinals a one o’clock start on the East coast is the equivalent of playing at 10 am Arizona time.  It is a tough early season road test that could set up the Cardinals for a great start to the season if passed.
