Breaking: Chance Comanche Commits To Arizona Wildcats
By Gabe Encinas
It’s official that 4-star center Chance Comanche has committed to Arizona. The news breaks as he is in Tucson this weekend for his official campus visit. However it doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as many have predicted Arizona as his destination. Comanche had recently been spotted this past weekend at Arizona State on an official visit and also had NC State, UConn and UCLA is his list of top schools. Comanche is the #52 overall recruit and #10 center in the country according to 247Sports.
Coming in at 6-9 185lbs, Comanche is extremely long in the paint. He is extremely quick on his feet and should be able to fit in Sean Miller’s system seamlessly. His game is fairly unique and plays like a combination of a few players. His length and defense is similar to that of Brandon Ashley but his style of play is similar to former Wildcat Angelo Chol, his free throw consistency is in the likes of Mark Lyons, a much-needed bonus. At 6-9 185, Comanche will definitely have to develop some strength, which the Arizona Wildcats training staff will certainly make happen. Click here to see his highlights.
This commitment should not scare off top prospects including #13 overall, #4 center Stephen Zimmerman and #6 overall, #2 power forward Ivan Rabb. Many recruiting experts have both Zimmerman and Rabb going to the Arizona Wildcats and one should never doubt Sean Miller.
This upcoming year is going to be huge for the Arizona Wildcats. With TJ McConnell graduating, Stanley Johnson being dubbed a top-5 pick after just one season, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson a projected lottery pick along with Brandon Ashley and Kaleb Tarczewski being potential first round picks, this could be a huge overhaul. But if Sean Miller continues to hold down the #1 recruiting class in 2015, there should be no problems going forward.
