For this Morning Meltdown let’s take a look into some of the buzz surrounding the Arizona Cardinals as they are coming off of their win against the New York Giants.

The Arizona Cardinals increased their win streak to 2-0 yesterday after a win in New York.

"“There had been much speculation entering this week as the injury bug had bitten the Cardinals once again. Reports began surfacing that Cardinals Quarterback, Carson Palmer, would be available to play against the Giants. Just hours before game time, Palmer was scratched from the lineup and backup Drew Stanton would get the start. The opposing New York Giants were coming off of a loss of their own and were looking to right the ship. The Cardinals would jump out to a quick 10-0, led by a one yard touchdown run from Jonathan Dwyer. The Giants answered the call right before half time, as Eli Manning threw a 7 yard strike to Reuben Randle for a touchdown. In the second half the Cardinals defense began to struggle, and Eli Manning was able to capitalize again. This time it was a touchdown pass to Daniel Fells and the Giants took the 14-10 advantage.”"

Fellow Heat Waved writer analyzes the effect injuries will have on the Arizona Cardinals playoff hopes this season.

"“They lost Dansby in free agency,Tyrann Mathieu is still recovering from his knee injury from last year, lost Daryl Washington for the year due to a suspension, lost Darnell Dockett to an ACL tear and just this week, John Abraham got a concussion and may call it a career. With all that in mind, it is extremely tough to say the Cardinals will have a shot for the Lombardi Trophy this February.Last year, the Cardinals were the best team against the run, giving up only 84 yards per game. In the first game this year, they gave up 52 yards. It might seem that their better than last year but lets remember, it’s the first game of the year, and the Chargers were passing the ball more than they were running it. We can’t make it seem like Arizona is about to destroy the least rushing yards in a single season record (current record is 970 yards with the 2000 ravens defense which played like they were playing on rookie level in Madden). This team is going to struggle due to the fact that they lost a lot of experience, leadership and most importantly, talent. This especially hurts considering the two top teams in their division and possibly in the NFL are top 5 in rushing yards last year (49ers and Seahawks)”"
