Arizona Cardinals Sign Ex-ASU Running Back Marion Grice
By Mario Hicks
The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms with running back Marion Grice, a former ASU standout, according to a source close to the player.
The Cardinals have not officially announced the decision to sign Marion Grice yet, or what the corresponding roster move will be, but it is thought that the confirmation is coming soon.
Marion Grice played in 24 games (23 starts) in two years for ASU during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He scored 39 touchdowns during that stretch, placing him fifth all-time at ASU.
He had more than 3,045 all-purpose yards.
Marion Grice was previously on the San Diego Chargers practice squad. NFL teams are allowed to sign players directly off other teams’ practice squads if they sign them to their 53-man active roster.
Grice rushed for 79 yards on 17 carries against the Cardinals in the final preseason game for both teams on Aug. 28.
The Cardinals have Week 4 off to prepare for the Broncos, who fell to 2-1 on the season with a 26-20 loss in overtime to the Seahawks in Week 3. Denver also has a bye in Week 4.
The Cardinals play next on October 5, in Denver.
