Carson Palmer Will Start Against Washington Redskins

The Arizona Cardinals were very thin at quarterback going into the week match-up with the Washington Redskins. Drew Stanton, who had been starting in place of injured starter Carson Palmer, failed to be cleared from the concussion suffered during last weeks loss in Denver. So that left third stringer Logan Thomas as the only healthy signal caller with Carson Palmer still on the road to recovery.

But according to reports by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Carson Palmer is ready to go and will be under center for the Cardinals.

Carson Palmer had been out of the line-up after suffering a nerve injury on a freakish fall on the sidelines in Week 1.  Whether Palmer is completely recovered or recovered enough to play remains to be seen but clearly Bruce Arians did not want to face the skins with Thomas starting under center.

The game day decision to start Palmer may require the Redskins to make a defensive adjustment.  Palmer is the very definition of a pocket passer and presents a stark contrast to the mobility Logan Thomas brings to the field.  Expect the Redskins to come after Carson Palmer early and often to test the health of the Cardinals QB.
