The injury bug then turned its attention on the offense biting both starting quarterback Carson Palmer and back-up Drew Stanton. Carson Palmer was healthy enough to start the game against the Redskins but Cardinal fans have to be wondering who is next.
Despite all the injuries the Arizona Cardinals keep winning and that winning has them sitting atop the NFC West, arguably the toughest division in the NFL. With a road win against San Francisco 49ers already under their belt the Cardinals are in complete control of their destiny. Question is can they keep winning or will the injuries finally catch up with them.
Answers to this question and more in the Arizona Cardinals edition of the Morning Meltdown.
From AZCentral: Arizona Cardinals Are Flying High
"The Cardinals are 3-1 and tied atop the NFC West. But injuries have stolen the pass rush. The team’s third-string rookie quarterback was asked to beat the reigning AFC champions on the road, in the fifth week of the season. And for the first time in his NFL career, head coach Bruce Arians left a Friday practice uncertain about his starting quarterback, forced to assemble a coherent game plan for three different candidates."
From AZCardinals.com: Arizona Cardinals Top Redskins In Carson Palmer Return
"Palmer threw 44 passes, completing 28 for 250 yards, two touchdowns and once again, zero interceptions – the Cardinals have yet to throw an interception this season. That shouldn’t have been the case, after Palmer threw one right to Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo, only to have Orakpo drop it. But the details get lost in the big picture, which is that the Cards had their quarterback back."
From Fox Sports: Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader Get Engaged
"Arizona Cardinals cheerleader Claire Thornton was on the sideline Sunday rooting on the Cardinals as they took on the Redskins when her boyfriend, United States Air Force Captain Erick Straub, came out and popped a huge question."
