In just a couple of weeks after firing Kirk Gibson, the D-backs have hired A’s bench coach Chip Hale as his replacement.
Chip Hale is no stranger to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He spent six seasons managing Arizona’s minor league system and eight in the big leagues as a third base coach for the Diamondbacks, New York Mets and recently with the Oakland A’s.
It was liekly Chip Hales well rounded experience that ultimately landed the job as Diamondbacks manager. His player developement experience coupled with big league coaching experience was just the combination of skills that Tony LaRussa seemed to be looking for.
Now that the Diamondbacks brain trust is assembled they will turn their attention to pulling the team out of the basement in the NL West. That begins with the free agency period that begins shortly after the winner hoist the world series trophy.
