NFL Trade Deadline: Could Larry Fitzgerald Be On The Move

The Arizona Cardinals have been winning but have had to use smoke and mirrors to do it.  The Birdgang has been decimated by injuries and have an aging veteran at quarterback but team play an maximum effort have resulted in positive results in the win column.

Carson Palmer has been leading a consistent Cardinals passing attack without the help of long team superstar Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald (30) has dropped to #3 in Palmer’s pecking order despite showing the ability to catch the ball in traffic and break tackles.

Although he has dropped out of the Cardinals flight plan, Larry Fitzgerald can still be productive and could help another team get to the Superbowl if the situation was right.

That is the premise behind Greg Garber’s piece on ESPN where he proposes that that Cardinals deal Fitzgerald.

"Cardinals trade wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to Packers for their 2014 No. 2 draft choice, running back Johnathan Franklin and receiver Jordy Nelson"

Now Garber subtitles his post “explosive, albeit unlikely, possible deals” and this one seems to fit the description.  That said considering Larry Fitzgerald role in the Cardinals offense would the team be better served trading the aging superstar to get a piece that could help the Cardinals down the stretch.
