Arizona Cardinals v Philadelphia Eagles State Time, Preview
By Omar Soussi
This sunday, two of the top teams in the NFL will face off when the Arizona Cardinals play the Eagles at Glendale. This game will most likely have playoff implications when the season comes winding down and should be a good game regardless. The Cardinals are coming into this game beating the Raiders 24-13 the last week while the Eagles were just on a bye week.
The Eagles have found very unorthodox ways to win and put up points while the Cardinals have simply been having solid quarterback play and great defensive play. Both teams are very talented and well coached which makes this pick a lot harder. When I looked at these two teams, they proved they deserved their records’ but at time, they look like a 3-3 squad. So lets look at these two teams.
The Eagles have been a average team at times with some lucky plays going their ways. When they played the Giants two weeks ago, they proved they’re an offensive powerhouse, rushing for over 200 yards and putting up 27 points. Another thing that they got going for them, their offensive line is getting heathly.

This will help Nick Foles improve when he can actually have time behind the o-line. The receiver corps is very deadly when Foles has time to find them. The defense has been all right but they will be challenged when they face hot offensive power of the Cardinals. The advantage the Eagles have is they got an additional week to prepare for this game.
The Arizona Cardinals have been good this dealing with adversity. Lots of injuries on the defense? No problem. Starting quarterback injured? Not an issue. Secondary not playing as good as they could? That’s fine. This team has dealt with all that and got themselves 5-1, only losing to a healthy Denver squad. This team who I did think will struggle with the losses on defense, have actually improved on run defense, their pass defense is a bit spotty but it can hold up. The three top receivers for the Cardinals are better than most corps in the league with their big possession receivers in Larry and Floyd, and hey got their speed/ deep threat in John Brown. Their offensive line has been excellent to this point, Andre Ellington has been great rushing and receiving the ball andPalmer is getting better under this offense.
This game is very close to call, I struggled back and forth but i decided that the Arizona Cardinals with home field advantage is better that the Eagles, even though the Eagles had a bye, I believe in this squad. Score: 27-24 Arizona Cardinals.
