Arizona Cardinals Opponent Preview: Dallas Cowboys

The Arizona Cardinals hit the road this Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys after the Cards got a huge win and the Cowboys suffer a huge loss. Like last week this game has huge playoff implications that could change the landscape of the playoff road and who will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Cowboys have a lot of talent on this squad. Let’s take a look at the strengths of this team.

Brick Wall Of An Offensive Line

Seriously, when I look at the Cowboys offensive line, at times it’s like a freaking brick wall. This offensive line is a huge reason why Demarco Murray is running the ball so well and why the Cowboys are 6-2. This line has been so good run blocking and so good protecting Romo (except for this game); this line will give the Cardinals challenges to deal with.

Hot Running Back

Demarco Murray is running not only like he wants to get paid but like he is the best running back in the league. Murray has been bull dozing over defenses while getting 30 touches a game and getting over 100 yards in the last eight games.  The Cowboys featured back has over 1000 yards already. This man has speed, power, agility and presence of the field. Demarco Murray will give the Cardinals trouble and if they can’t figure out how to shut him down. If they can shut him down it will be a whole different game.

The X Factor

In his touchdown catch against the Redskins Dez Bryant showed that he is a grown man. He is proving that he is one of the best receivers in the NFL not named Calvin Johnson. His catching radius is ridiculous, he has great hands and he has great speed. This dude is going to give the Cardinals secondary some huge problems. Bryant also has great complimentary receivers like Jason Witten and Terrence Williams. The weapons Tony Romo has are ridiculous.

Tony Romo

You really have a hard time figuring out Romo. One year, he’s carrying the team to an 8-8 record by himself and the next year, his team is carrying him to a 6-2 record. Don’t get me wrong Romo is a main contributor but because the offense is so balanced, he doesn’t have to do as much as he did last season and doesn’t have to worry about winning the game by himself. He’s not turning over the ball that much and he’s being clutch when they ask him to.

A Good Defense

The Cowboys defense has been playing great, which is so weird due to the fact that last year they were so bad. Rolando McClain has been playing like he deserved that first round pick while the secondary isn’t getting burned like they did last season. This team can still give up yards, but this is not the same team as last year.

Log on to Heatwaved this Saturday when I will give my prediction for the game. Like last week’s match-up with the Eagles, this promises to be an excellent game.
