College Football Playoff Rankings: Arizona State Sun Devils #14
By Tony Fischer
The College Football Playoff Rankings have been released and its disappointing news if you are a fan of the Arizona State Sun Devils. The first ever rankings have ASU ranked #14 two spots behind in-state rival Arizona. This despite both teams having a 6-1 record and Arizona State having the better resume.
The Sun Devils have two wins over top 25 teams under their belt. That’s more than one can say for the Arizona Wildcats who can boast only one, although that one win was over an Oregon team ranked #2 at the time.
There is good news. The Arizona State Sun Devils are in control of their own destiny. If the Sun Devils were to win the rest of their games they would have 6 top 25 victories on their resume, including one against the rival Wildcats.
A 12-1 resume like that would make it impossible for the selection committee to keep the Sun Devils out of the college football playoff.
The quest to be the best starts this weekend when the Arizona State Sun Devils hosts #17 Utah.
