Arizona Cardinals Opponent Preview: St. Louis Rams
By Omar Soussi
This Sunday the St. Louis Rams head over to Glendale to play the Arizona Cardinals. Now on paper this looks like blowout but the Rams have caught fire recently beating two of the best teams in the NFC Seattle and San Fran. The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand have won four straight after losing to Denver. This game should be interesting due to this being a divisional matchup and the St Louis Rams still being in the hunt for a playoff spot. So lets dive into what the Rams look like.
Strong D-line
This defensive line found their footing agasint the 49ers in week 9 by sacking Colin Kaepernick 7 times. The At. Louis Rams are built on defense and when their defensive line gets going they are toughh to contaion. With players like Michael Brockers, Aaron Donald, Robert Quinn the defensive line only promises to get better with the return of Chris Long. This D-line is going to give the Cardinals some trouble.

Weak Offensively
Most of the time the St. Louis Rams offense looks like trash. They play well for one half and for the other they look putrid.
Qurterback Austin Davis plays well at times but looks lost at times. The St.Louis Rams have some talent at wide the receiver but they can’t do anything with it and the offensive line is pretty average at best. However, they can still put up points at least and keep games competitive.
Will Do Whatever It Takes To Win
Look at how the St. Louis Rams played against Seattle two weeks ago, the trick punt return and the fake punt were just some of the tricks Jeff Fisher would pull to win games. This team will do just about any type of trick play to win. I assume the Arizona Cardinals will be ready considering they are well coached and prepared.
Very Talented Underacheiving Defense
I already touched on the defensive line but when you look at this defense as a whole it’s makes you wonder why isn’t this team ranked top ten in every major defensive category. With so many high draft picks on this defense, it really is sad that this team isn’t playing as well as they should. Maybe this is the game they step up.
I think the Arizona Cardinals win 28-17 but the Rams will make a fight out of it, they are just too inconsistent as a team and that will kill them at the end.
