Arizona Cardinals Defense Buries Rams
By Tony Fischer
During the course of a season every NFL team has a game it seems they are destined to lose. The Arizona Cardinals faced one of those games on Sunday when the St. Louis Rams came calling.
The Rams have played the underdog role perfectly this season. After losing Sam Bradford to injury to start the season, the Rams have taken on an us against the world mentality with some positive results. With wins against San Francisco and Seattle the Rams already had some high-profile upsets on their resume and were looking to add one more in Arizona.

The Arizona Cardinals were down 14-10 when Carson Palmer went down with a leg injury in the 4th quarter. It looked dire until Drew Stanton hit John Brown with a 48 yard touchdown strike to take the lead.
Then the defense took over. Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie each added a touchdown after a St. Louis interception and fumble. That sealed the Arizona Cardinals 31-14 win improving their record to 8-1 on the season.
In the current playoff format the a team that has gone 8-1 has never missed the playoffs. That’s good news for the Cardinals who can now concentrate on clinching home field advantage for the playoffs.
That task begins tomorrow as the Cardinals start preparing for a big match-up with the Detroit Lions.
